Burlington, Vt. - On February 11, 2010, writer/adventurer Majka Burhardt will present “WayPoint Namibia”, a 30-minute adventure documentary film at the University of Vermont’s Davis Center.

In May 2009, a small team of rock climbers departed for Namibia with two goals: to find a way up an unexplored face, and to find a way into a  deeper understanding of southern Africa. At the heart of their trip lies the question, can adventure and culture combine to create understanding? The film is a story about their journey. Directed and produced by Chris Alstrin and Alstrin Films, with Executive Producer Majka Burhardt.

The film was in the official selection of: the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival, Boulder’s Adventure Film Festival, and the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival.

The on-campus event on February 11, 2010, 6:30p.m. – 9:00 p.m., is sponsored by the UVM Outing Club and Outdoor Gear Exchange(gearx.com)
