Enosburg, Vt. – January 29-2010 – Friday morning at approximately 10:07 a.m., Vermont State Police received a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred at the TD Bank on Main Street in Enosburg Village.
A lone male entered the bank and demanded cash from one of the tellers. The robber did not display a weapon. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the crook fled on foot.
Police described the robber as a white male wearing a dark colored Carhart type jacket, a grey hoodie, gloves, Black face mask, a dark colored bandana and carrying a Hannaford’s grocery bag.
Later in the day, Vermont State Police Investigator Sgt. Kirk Cooper reported that Chad Lussier, age 23 of Richford, Vt., had been arrested in connection with Friday morning’s bank robbery of the TD Bank on Main Street in Enosburg Village.
Troopers John MacCallum, Drew Cota and John Bruzzi of the St. Albans Barracks were in Sheldon, Vt., responding to the robbery when Cota observed a man near Colton Road travelling west on Rt. 105. The man, who matched the description of the robber was operating a white Ford Explorer. The troopers initiated a motor vehicle stop and questioned Lussier where Lussier’s vehicle was then seized.
A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and money from the bank robbery was located within the vehicle. Lussier was taken into custody and lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail. Lussier is scheduled to appear in Franklin County District Court on Monday, February 2nd at 1:30 PM to answer to the charge of Assault and Robbery.
The U.S. Border Patrol assisted Vermont State Police with the canvassing of the area following the bank robbery.
